i really fancy that it's all those details which make it come alive on my screen, you played with them in a very nice way. if you think it lacks contrast, it might be because of being in a digital form, that happens to me as well... traditional art looks the best "live" but this is still outstanding piece
The contrast is really, really nice on the neck, but the face is a little too similar in value in some places. If you left areas, like the teeth and those spikes on the snout and head, whiter, you might achieve the contrast you're looking for. You could always pull out some of the darker shading with a kneaded eraser. But seriously, all that talk aside, I love this. Your dragon drawings are really great.
And seeing good traditional art kind of makes me wonder why I haven't done any for...hell, almost all summer.
well, we know you can do some awesome dragons, but maybe this one needed a touch/hint of color.. his eye is really hard to see... Also, can you do some lighter aligned ones?? perhaps a playful gold or something??
