Still practising with markers. I’m kind of having trouble getting the kind of contrast I want with the markers. Unfortunately, I can’t figure out what the heck to do with the background. This is a travelling library snake. The books on the stomach ungulate and push the snake forward. Or something like that. Any suggestions for a background?

I think... a desolate wasteland for the background, kind of a symbol for the wasteland the mind becomes when it lacks knowledge. And the book-snake travels around enlightening people and bringing life to the wasteland and stuff.
